Kyrgyzstan, formally called the Republic of Kyrgyzstan, is a beautiful country located in Central Asia. Kyrgyzstan is renowned for its natural beauty and its rich traditions.

The Kyrgyz Republic is a landlocked country, covered by mountains sharing its boundaries with north Kazakhstan, west Uzbekistan, southwest Tajikistan and southeast China.

Kyrgyzstan’s capital is Bishkek which is the country’s biggest city. Bishkek occupies a total area of 49 square miles with a population estimated at around 1,250,000.

Kyrgyzstan was annexed by Russia in 1876 and the country gained its independence from the Soviet Union successfully in the year 1991.

This country’s official languages are Kyrgyz (national), and Russian (official). The estimated population, as for 2016, is 6,019,480. Within this area, non-denominational Muslims are the largest population. Kyrgyzstan’s currency is in Som (KGS). 1 Most amount to 0.95 Indian Rupees.

Climate and
Food

The country’s largely covered in mountains. The temperature goes from -5 to -10 degrees C during winters while it is around 25 degrees C in Summers. Because of its natural beauty the country is also known as ‘ Asian Switzerland. ‘

Kyrgyz cuisine is based on meat and dairy products. This possibly is because of their typical nomadic lifestyle. They prefer more mouton, pork, horsemeat, beef, goat meat, and yak meat than any other meat, and eat wild game like ular (a form of mountain turkey).
